NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX INCREASE

This notice only applies to a taxing unit other than a special taxing unit or municipality with a population of less than 30,000, regardless of whether it is a special taxing unit.

PROPOSED TAX RATE                             $           0.7995           per $100
NO-NEW-REVENUE TAX RATE                $           0.7723           per $100
VOTER-APPROVAL TAX RATE                 $           0.7995           per $100

The no-new-revenue tax rate is the tax rate for the         2023         tax year that will raise the same amount of property tax revenue for CITY OF_OLTON from the same properties in both the 2022 tax year and the 2023 tax year. 
The voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate that CITY OF OLTON may adopt without holding an election to seek voter approval of the rate.
The proposed tax rate is greater than the no-new-revenue tax rate. This means that CITY OF OLTON is proposing to increase property taxes for the 2023 tax year.

A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED TAX RATE WILL BE HELD ON 09/11/2023 06:00 PM at Olton City Hall, 900 Main St., Olton, TX.

The proposed tax rate is not greater than the voter-approval tax rate. As a result, CITY OF OLTON is not required to hold an election at which voters may accept or reject the proposed tax rate. However, you may express your support for or opposition to the proposed tax rate by contacting the members of the                        Olton City Council                       of CITY OF OLTON         at their offices or by attending the public hearing mentioned above.

CITY OF OLTON
TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM

The City of Olton will hold a public hearing at 6:10 PM on April 10, 2023 at Olton City Hall, 900 Main St. Olton, Texas 79064, regarding reducing proposed water improvements in connection with the City’s Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (TxCDBG) contract. The proposed reduction includes reducing the project by approximately five hundred fifty-five (555 LF) linear feet of waterline and reducing yard-line replacements by approximately 10 households. The purpose of this meeting is to allow citizens an opportunity to provide comments and discuss the citizen participation plan, the development of local housing and community development needs, the amount of funding available, eligible TxCDBG activities, and the use of past TxCDBG funds. Citizens are encouraged to participate in this TxCDBG contract and make their views known at this public hearing.  Citizens unable to attend this meeting may submit their views and proposals to Keeley Adams, City Administrator at 900 Main St Olton, TX 79064, 806-285-2611. Persons with disabilities that wish to attend this meeting should contact the City Hall to arrange for assistance. Individuals who require auxiliary aids or services for this meeting should contact the City at least two days before the meeting so that appropriate arrangements can be made. PROGRAMA DE SUBVENCIONES EN BLOQUE PARA EL DESARROLLO COMUNITARIO DE TEXAS

La Ciudad de Olton llevará a cabo una audiencia pública a las 6:10 PM el 10 de abril de  2023 en  Olton City Hall, 900 Main St. Olton, Texas 79064, con respecto a la reducción de las mejoras de agua propuestas en relación con el contrato del Programa de Subvenciones en Bloque para el Desarrollo Comunitario de Texas (TxCDBG).   La reducción propuesta incluye reducir el proyecto en aproximadamente quinientos cincuenta y cinco (555 LF) pies lineales de línea de flotación y reducir los reemplazos de líneas de patio en aproximadamente 10 hogares.  El propósito de esta reunión es permitir que los ciudadanos tengan la oportunidad de proporcionar comentarios y discutir el plan de participación ciudadana, el desarrollo de las necesidades locales de vivienda y desarrollo comunitario, la cantidad de fondos disponibles, las actividades elegibles de TxCDBG y el uso de fondos anteriores de TxCDBG. Se alienta a los ciudadanos a participar en este contrato de TxCDBG y dar a conocer sus puntos de vista en esta audiencia pública.  Los ciudadanos que no puedan asistir a esta reunión pueden enviar sus opiniones y propuestas a Keeley Adams, Administrador de la Ciudad en 900 Main St Olton, TX 79064, 806-285-2611.
